Welcome to Department of Electronics
The Wayamba University of Sri Lanka was established
as the 13th National University in Sri Lanka with effect
from 01 October 1999 by the Government Notification
in the Extraordinary Gazette No. 1093/8 of Tuesday 17
August 1999 with four faculties. The Department of Electronics was initiated in 2000 under the Faculty of
Applied Sciences. This is the only Department in the
University System, which offers Electronics as a major
subject for the Physical Science undergraduates.

To become a centre of excellence for the development of human resources in the field of Electronics to match the national and global trends.
The Department intends to contribute to the development of Electronics and its related fields by producing quality graduates who are well versed with theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
To provide competent, skilled and innovative manpower by providing novel theoretical and practical background whereby the undergraduates can obtain vast knowledge in both aspects to enter to the competitive manufacturing and service enterprises.
